Covid-19 Update

Industrial Communications is an Essential Service Organization.

On behalf of our entire team, we wanted to share with you our plan of operation during the COVID-19 pandemic and now shelter in place state mandate. We will be doing our part to flatten the curve by reducing the number of people in our office and on jobsites. We will continue to support “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” as designated by Governor Inslee.

Our priorities are clear – employee health and safety and business continuity.

Our hearts go out to those that have and will be infected by the virus. We want to make it clear that we remain open for business and are committed to providing exceptional service to our customers. We continue to process orders and satisfy the servicing needs of our customers. Together we will determine the need for physical drop-off vs UPS shipment to customers.

At Industrial Communications, we recognize the critical role we play as being an Essential Services provider for our customers, and the municipalities we serve in the Puget Sound area. As a distributor and integrator in public safety agencies, hospitals, public works, airlines, oil refineries, distributors and more, count on Industrial Communications for the optimal performance of their wireless voice, video and data solutions.

With this in mind, Industrial Communications remains steadfast in our commitment to fulfilling our customers’ requests for the delivery and provisioning of their vital communications for two-way radios and accessories, as well as providing the technical support to keep critical wireless infrastructure operating at optimal efficiency through a professional services team of technicians.

Industrial Communication’s Rental solutions can provide short-term rentals to assist with the coordination, logistics and security of our customers’ requirements. Whether you are confronted with augmenting an existing system with additional radios, or creating a radio network in a remote parking lot to coordinate the facilitation of the distribution of food, medical supplies or even providing healthcare screening, Industrial Communications is standing by with Push-To-Talk (PTT) or rental devices to support your needs.

If your requests are simply to add additional accessories to your radio fleet to help keep your employees safe with personalized speaker mics, headsets or earpieces, we have a robust inventory of product on-hand and ready to ship, to fulfill all your needs.

For more than 20 years, Industrial Communications employees have been committed to serving you. Radio decontamination suggestions

If there is a risk that your two-way radio has been exposed to harmful pathogens, the following cleaner has been approved. For best results perform a general cleaning first. Apply Zep DZ-7 per manufacturer’s instructions. Motorola Solutions is unable to determine whether any particular cleaning product is effective in removing specific foreign substances from radios. However, the preceding cleaners and processes have been approved for use by Motorola Solutions related to their less degrading effect on the physical radio.  Please be advised that only radios rated with IP57 or better should be submersed for cleaning.  The 2nd number on the IP rating refers to its water rating.  An IPx7 radio is submersible for 1 meter up to 30 minutes.   MOTOTRBO XPR 3000e series, XPR 7000e, XPR7000, XPR 6550/6350 series radios are examples of Motorola submersible radios.

Disinfect radios with Zep DZ-7

First clean heavily soiled areas before decontamination. Add 4 ounces of the product per gallon of water. Apply solution with a mop, cloth, sponge, hand pump trigger sprayer or low pressure coarse sprayer so as to wet all surfaces thoroughly. Allow to remain wet for 10 minutes, then remove excess liquid. For sprayer applications, spray 6-8 inches from surface, rub with brush, sponge or cloth. Do not breathe spray mist. Zep DZ-7 exhibits effective viricidal activity vs the Coronavirus.

Best user practice for sharing radios

One way that the virus can spread is through the sharing of radios. In order to combat the spread of germs, we recommend using a personal radio audio accessory. This allows each user to holster a radio in a carrying belt and only touch, talk, and breathe onto their own audio device. Once they are done using the radio, they can simply remove the accessory and allow the next user to attach their own personal accessory to the radio.
